Job status lifecycle

The statuses a job moves through, who moves it, and how completed and failed work are recorded.

The statuses

Unassigned → Assigned → En route → Arrived → In progress → Completed. A job can also end Failed (the driver could not complete it) or Cancelled (you withdrew it). Every transition is stamped with the time and the person or app that made it.

Outcome is recorded separately from status: a completed job carries a success outcome, a failed stop carries its failure reason. That is why a re-attempt can be created from a failed job without rewriting its history.

Who moves a job

Drivers move their own jobs from the driver app — start travelling, arrive, start work, complete or fail. Dispatchers can move any job from the board. If a job has a geofence radius and the driver shares location, arrival is detected automatically when they enter it.

Routes

A route has its own status — planned, dispatched, in progress, completed — derived from its stops. Dispatching a route sends it to the driver in one step.
