Driver Location Consent

What you need to know about collecting location data from drivers, and how to handle consent properly.

Why consent matters

Tracking employee or contractor location has legal implications in most jurisdictions. Before enabling GPS tracking on a driver's device, your business is responsible for informing them and, where required by law, obtaining their consent.

Fleiko may collect location data for fleet operations when tracking is enabled. Your company controls tracking settings and is responsible for using location data according to company policy and applicable law.

Fleiko's built-in consent prompt

When a driver presses Start Tracking for the first time, Fleiko shows a consent screen explaining that their location will be shared with their team. The driver must agree before tracking begins.

This consent is recorded against the driver's account and company. It does not substitute for any legal consent requirements in your jurisdiction.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for understanding and complying with applicable employment law, privacy law, and data protection regulations regarding employee location tracking.

If you operate across multiple jurisdictions, consider consulting a legal advisor before enabling fleet-wide tracking.
