How GPS Tracking Works

Fleiko's live tracking feature lets drivers share their location with fleet managers in real time.

Overview

Fleiko includes an optional GPS tracking feature. When a portal user presses Start Tracking and grants location permission, their device's GPS coordinates are recorded against the selected vehicle.

Location data is only collected while tracking is actively enabled. It is never collected in the background without explicit activation.

Location records are visible to all members of your company's portal account.

How to start tracking

Go to Tracking in the portal. Select the vehicle you are driving from the dropdown. Press 'Start Tracking'.

Your browser or app will request location permission. Allow it to begin sharing.

Press 'Stop Tracking' when your journey is complete.

Privacy and consent

Fleiko may collect location data for fleet operations when tracking is enabled. Your company controls tracking settings and is responsible for using location data according to company policy and applicable law.

Before enabling tracking for drivers, your business should inform those drivers that location data may be collected during working hours. See the Driver Location Consent article for details.

GPS plan availability

GPS tracking is included in DIY Pro and all Managed plans. It is not available on DIY Starter.

On DIY Pro, all vehicles in your fleet can have active location tracking enabled.

To upgrade and unlock GPS tracking, go to Settings → Plan & Billing.
