How Inspections Work

Record pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic vehicle inspections. Track pass/fail and any issues found.

Recording an inspection

Go to Inspections in the portal. Click 'New Inspection'.

Select the vehicle, inspection type (Pre-Trip, Post-Trip, Periodic, DOT, Safety, Custom), and the inspector.

Record the odometer reading, pass/fail result, and any issues found.

Add notes and a date.

Inspection types

Pre-Trip — before a driver takes a vehicle out.

Post-Trip — when a vehicle returns.

Periodic — scheduled safety or compliance inspection.

DOT — Department of Transportation inspection (record only; Fleiko is not a DOT compliance platform).

Safety / Custom — any other structured inspection.

Linking to repairs

If an inspection finds issues, you can create a repair request directly from the inspection record. The repair will reference the inspection for full traceability.
